CHC30121 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. The course duration is typically 1-2 years. Students generally have around 7 contact hours per week for classes/tutorial, and should set aside 8 -10 hours per week for personal study time. Assessment types vary, but can include demonstrations, knowledge tests, observations, case studies, reports, projects and presentations. Maximum break applies to courses crossing over the Christmas / New Year break. Pathways into qualifications: Upon successful completion of the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, students may gain employment in the Children’s Services industry or enrol in the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Participants may also seek employment opportunities as detailed in employment opportunities. Employment opportunities Job Roles/Occupational titles. Training and assessment methods Online, Classroom and self-directed learning as well as work placement Assessment Learners will be assessed through written, research and workplace throughout the course There are no final exams. All assessment tasks are able to be completed within the current place of employment, or, within any recognised child care facility as a volunteer worker. Students can enrol directly into this course.
