CHC50121 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff. Learning from industry experts, your child care training will cover topics essential to your career in child care such as: understanding child development and learning, culture and diversity in the child care setting, health and safety for children and designing and implementing educational programs. In addition, you will gain exposure to leadership and management practices to support your future career progression. This course covers a wide range of important knowledge and skills you may need to be a successful education leader in children’s services, shaping the lives of future generations. The Diploma may provide you with essential management and leadership skills, including child care programming and planning, working with families, the community and your team. Location Truganina (Western suburbs of Melbourne) Timetable Online Module (Learning & Assessment) Class room: 1 days per week Work Placement: 1 day per week (For 35 weeks) Course duration 53 weeks excluding 12 weeks break. Maximum break applies to courses crossing over the Christmas / New Year break. Course cost $6999 Pathways into qualifications: Upon successful completion of the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, students may gain employment in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry or enrol at a tertiary institution in a related Bachelor degree course. Training and assessment methods This course involve a combination of classroom tutorials, resource development, practical sessions, research and plus work placement at Arndell Park Early Childhood Learning centre. We utilise a range of assessment methods including role plays, written assessments, skills demonstration, projects, training records and work samples for the assessment of competency.
